Contribution to Learning
EDLD 5315/5320

Oh, what a journey this has been! It's hard to think almost a year has passed. As I embarked on my final journey in graduate studies, I was eager to complete my last two courses, EDLD-5315 Assessing Digital Learning and Instruction and EDLD-5320 Synthesis of Digital Learning and Leadership/Capstone. The timing was perfect as these classes started just as my Spring break began, allowing me to dive right in and fully submerge myself in the learning experience.

In 5315, the most significant challenge was completing the action research plan and the literature review. However, Dr. Meeusee made it achievable by providing all the necessary tools to succeed. I like that we were allowed to rework our literature review from 5305.

In 5320, I felt mixed emotions while planning the final synthesis assignment. However, excitement was the one that resonated the most. The excitement came from compiling all the artifacts I have worked on throughout the ADL program and knowing I will be one step closer to receiving my degree once this assignment is complete. As I worked through the synthesis, I thought about the praise and motivation that Dr. Harapniuk provided during class meetings. I will do my best to paraphrase his words of encouragement. He said look at all your work; when you finish, you will have this ePortfolios with all your learning. In comparison, others working on a Master's Degree will only have their degree. Those words repeatedly went through my mind as I completed the synthesis coursework.

My colleagues were one of the most significant sources of motivation and support during this journey. Their encouragement, feedback, and collaboration were instrumental in my success. Being a part of the ADL Cohort GroupMe provided a platform for us to consistently chat, discuss ideas, and share resources at any time of the day. This sense of community was invaluable, and I am thankful for the relationships I have formed with my fellow cohort members.  I have also participated in and completed all discussion boards in both sections and responded to peers. I collaborated with James Rawls consistently throughout the ADL program. I have also contributed to GroupMe chats with Patrick Rodriguez, Anna Diemecke, Dawn Short, and Adrianne Ortiz.

In conclusion, my journey through EDLD-5315 and EDLD-5320 has been a challenging yet rewarding experience. The support and collaboration from my colleagues, the guidance from my instructors, and the adoption of a growth mindset have all contributed to my success. As I bid farewell to my graduate studies, I am excited to utilize the knowledge and skills I have gained to make a meaningful impact in the field of education.
