Contribution to Your Learning and the        Learning Community

What did I contribute to my learning?

I feel very anxious and excited as I finish up my first two courses in the Applied Digital Learning program (5302 Concepts of Educational Technology, 5305 Disruptive Innovation Technology). I have learned so much in such a short time. One of the most important things that I have learned is TIME MANAGEMENT! Managing time is one of the things that has caused me to struggle. I must continuously remind myself that life will happen as I continue my ADL journey. There may be family emergencies that I have to address alone the way and such. If I want to be successful, I have to adjust accordingly. Completing each assignment was a unique learning experience, but all projects for both 5302 & 5305 complimented each other. The innovation proposal was the starting

foundation for all assignments. During that time, I had not joined any class groups. I relied on James Rawls to bounce ideas back and forth. Dr. Harapnuik’s ‘It’s About Learning’ site also helps tremendously.

Next was the growth mindset plan. Before I began the project, I tried to think with a growth mindset. I completed the assignment with a program that I had never used before. The overall experience was phenomenal. Next was the Learning Manifesto. The manifesto was like a breath of fresh air. I was able to express how I truly feel about educating students. It was also nice to discuss some of the problems in education without being judged for my opinion. Then I stumbled on a roadblock the Literature Review.   I faced many obstacles with the lit review. Finding resources, organizing the paper, and APA format, to name a few. Not to mention a family emergency the same week it was due. Nevertheless, I tried to keep a growth mindset, and I persevered! The Implementation Outline was an assignment that shed light on how and when I would be able to set my plan into motion. I was able to complete all the discussion posts in both courses. I was also able to read through all the content and watch videos for both courses.

What did I contribute to my learning communities?

As I mentioned, I joined the groups a little later after the classes started. I joined the GroupMe ADL 2021-2023 and EDLD 5305. Dawn Short, Anna Diemecke, Kelly Skillingberg, and Stacey Powell were some of the people who I chatted with or made comments within the threads. I have given feedback to Stacey Powell, Adrianne Ortiz, Ashleigh Carter and James Rawls. I have attended all zoom meetings for both classes. I have replied to classmates

in both classes on the discussion board. I have revised all assignments for both courses as of this moment. I want to improve on giving feedback. I feel like my feedback can sometimes be vague and meaningless. I need to work on saying why I think something is good versus just saying it. I realize my struggles and aspire to improve as I move along in the ADL program.

My Scores:
