When it comes to making decisions, we often rely on facts. We want to know what is happening, what the potential consequences could be, and what our options are. However, sometimes we focus too much on the facts and lose sight of the bigger picture. In the Power of Words video, people only concentrated on the words giving little thought about the man's situation. The people's actions changed when the words on the sign touched their hearts. As much as we may rely on facts, words that reach the heart often are even more valuable.

My audience will need to have the motivation and not just information. In education, we often are tasked with several responsibilities. Most of the time, these responsibilities were presented with very little motivation. I plan to motivate them by sharing the benefits ePortfolios have for students.
The use of videos or other media can create a sense of urgency and encourage people to act. Sometimes people need to see a need to act on it. A combination of words and visuals is very powerful.
