After learning about the two mindsets, no one wants to identify as one with a fixed mindset. Fixed mindset has a bit of a negative connotation. Before reading Recognizing and Overcoming False Growth Mindset, I thought I primarily had a growth mindset. Now,

I'm a bit perplexed. Whereas I initially thought I had a growth mindset, I now believe I have a mixture of both. In last week's discussion post, I mentioned that I often tell my students growth mindset phrases such as 'I like your thinking'. Words like this seem to be praising their efforts instead of their progress. I have learned that this is referred to as a false growth mindset. Moving forward, I will focus more on improvement rather than effort. Thankfully, there are ways to overcome false growth mindset and fixed mindset.
Increasing student engagement with technology has always been my goal as a teacher. Tailoring teaching to student needs through technology has become increasingly important as our world is becoming more technologically advanced. I think blended learning is a great way to incorporate personalized learning technology into the classroom. It enables the students to take control of their learning. It is also tailored to their individualized learning path.
Using technology in the classroom can help tailor instruction to meet each student's needs. This, in turn, leads to increased engagement and learning. As teachers, we should continue to explore ways to use technology in the classroom to help our students be successful.
