Voice is something that everyone has, but not everyone uses. It is a powerful tool that can be used to change the world. When it comes to education, learners need a voice. Allowing students to express their voices gives them the freedom to think critically and creatively. Students are given a voice through authentic learning opportunities. They are given the opportunity to share their thoughts and feelings. Students feel valued when they are given a voice. They feel like they are part of the process and can make a difference. Giving students a voice is one of the most important things we can do as educators. It is one of the best ways to create positive change in education.
As I continue in the ADL courses, I am gaining more confidence in using my voice, taking ownership of my learning, and leading with a growth mindset
I still feel like I’m trying to find my voice through my ePortfolio. I’m hoping that by introducing the portfolio to my students they will teach me something and lend some inspiration.
